The Players Championship tickets are now available for sale or purchase. This early summer PGA Tour event has been called the "Fifth Major" because the popularity and competitiveness of the Players Championship rivals only that of the other major championships, such as The Masters, and the U.S. Open Championship.
Since Jack Nicklaus' 1974 victory at the Tournament Players Championship, golf tickets to see the annual competition at the TPC at Sawgrass have been a big part of the golf tickets market in America. The Players Championship has a glorious tradition in Florida. Besides Nicklaus, many notable players have won at the Players Championship, including Greg Norman, Davis Love III, and Tiger Woods.
The PGA moved this tour stop to a May date in 2007 to accommodate the new FedEx Cup format and to space out the more popular tournaments of the year. This will make tickets to see the Players Championship even harder to get, as many more pro golf fans will be able to attend this event. Getting tickets as early as possible is recommended.
